Ohio University moet dokken

Nearly two years after clearing photojournalism Professor Larry Nighswander of sexual harassment, Ohio University agreed to help pay $350,000 to one of his victims and adopt policies to ensure future complaints are taken seriously. The agreement settles a $3 million civil rights lawsuit brought by Becky Humes of Youngstown, a former student who accused Nighswander of using his position to coerce her into posing topless for him.

And it ends what Humes, 24, characterized as one of the darkest times of her life. "It was my choice to pursue the lawsuit," she said in a written statement, her first comments since the ordeal began. "I did so because I never again want anything like this to happen to anyone's sister, cousin, mother, classmate or friend."
